The Council of Fashion Designers of America, Inc. (CFDA) (www.cfda.com) is a not-for-profit trade association whose membership consists of more than 400 of America’s foremost women’s wear, menswear, jewelry and accessory designers. When the CFDA relocated to their new 45,000sft office, they selected Breninger Communications to design and deploy their telecommunications, structured tele/data cabling solution, network room design and conference room audio video system. The project consisted of 125,000 feet of category 5e cabling, APC network racks, a 65” Samsung plasma TV and a new state-of-the-art VoIP based telephone network. CFDA membership is by invitation only. Founded in 1962, the CFDA’s initial goals were, and still are:

• to further the position of fashion design as a recognized branch of American art and culture
• to advance its artistic and professional standards, to establish and maintain a code of ethics and practices of mutual benefit in professional, public, and trade relations
• and to promote and improve public understanding and appreciation of the fashion arts through leadership in quality and taste.

Founded in 1992, New Jersey SEEDS http://njseeds.org is a privately funded, statewide, nonprofit organization. They help change the lives of motivated, high-achieving students from low-income families by transforming their educational opportunities. They ensure that there students have the knowledge, skills, access and support to thrive at the nation’s finest schools and colleges.
